We can love to read comics and marvel at the creativity of comic book writers in their work. But can only comics make comics? No! We can all do comics.

“Anyone can make comics about anything with just paper and stationery. Basically you can make comics. It could be anything. Conversations, declarations of love, information, messages, philosophical reflections, Menkhili Halkasi, Ykili Halkasi, Ankili Halkasi, Ankili Halkasi. , associations we see, things we want, school lessons, etc..." (p. 07)

Here's what popular culture and comics researcher Hikmat Darmawan had to say in a comics guide titled How to Prank - According to the Comic Masters of the World.

Based on the belief that anyone can create comics without being good at drawing, Hikmat Darmawan offers interesting and easy tips for those who want to learn how to create comics. "This book also tries to uncover many misconceptions that prevent us from making comics, moreover, this book allows us to take a look at the history of comics in the world and advice on creating comics from the masters of Komut Teper to get dunti.

From the Introduction section, it is evident that becoming a member is very beneficial to you. This chapter explains that comics are pictures but stories/expressions use special imagery, so comic artists don't have to be good at drawing, they need to be able to speak simple, even simple, imagery such as:

Therefore, according to the author, especially in comics it is necessary to master the ability to draw, but rather the ability to master the language, create stories, master language (narrative). At the same time, in another section, the author gives an example of how Erge's artistic narration is used in Tintin's story: Zamrud Castafiore.

This story (Emerald of Castafiore), as Ergé admits, is about a mystery that seems to have happened, although nothing happened. In fact, upon reading this story for the first time, most readers will feel that this pale Tintin story has failed. One way or another, Tintin usually travels to exotic countries. But in the story of Tintin and his friends, they only live in and around Marlinspike Hall.

After all, this is the first time Captain Haddock has taken a break from distractions on the Ystang, but Erge deftly manages this story menu as if it were a detective story with separate puzzles to solve. Contact the teacher (p. 117)

Later in this book the author takes us on how to make comics in five chapters/exposures. The first is the Introduction section, which explains what a comic is. , then go to What is Imagery, What is Imagery? and finally How do you publish comics?

In each presentation, this book does not contain any advice in the form of text or visual representation, but at the end of each presentation, our author is given the task of creating a comic according to what is explained. These activities are presented on the tutorial page , which includes blank slates so we can immediately put into practice what we have learned in each chapter of this book.

All of the above explanations are presented in the form of practical tips along with vivid examples, packed in an attractive and dynamic layout that makes learning how to create comics a lot of fun. If you are looking for blank notebooks in this book, there are 50+ books and comics on the menu. You can imagine how the author searched and designed which panels from comics are suitable as examples for his presentation.

Unfortunately, the author does not give us examples of creations from Indonesian comics. In fact, several local comic artists are mentioned in this book, such as Beng Rahadian, Eko Nugroho, Tita Larasati, etc. Well, this is not accompanied by examples of their comics, which of course we can recognize apart from their work. .

In addition, this book is very useful for those who want to learn how to create comics or for those who are already comic artists as Beng Rahadian (comedian, founder of Samali Academy) said.

" This book will not make us lazy like a complicated textbook, it will be a lesson for beginners and a reminder for advanced learners, for this book forces us to return to the most basic and open theory."

Anyway, the cover of the book is marked "For Beginners" and #1, and the inside has the phrase "Basic" under the heading, so it looks like there will be more volumes. e. If not, this book will become a must-read for anyone wanting to learn how to make comics, from beginner to intermediate level.
